Kirkedge Farmhouse

November 2021

This house required an injection of love and care. The existing dated mahogany UPVC casements were functional but ugly, these were painted in heritage Farrow & Ball hues to lift the property externally, while reclaimed Yorkstone flags were laid to create a beautiful rear terrace from which the garden can be enjoyed.

The property is no longer reliant on the defunct inefficient AGA heating system which left the previous occupants feeling chilly and the property suffering from damp, Calor gas was installed and new radiators and a plumbing system fitted throughout. A new master bathroom was created, making the most of upstairs space. The internal doors were stripped of years of paint and restored with heritage colours more sympathetic to the original farmhouse.

Upstairs, walls were drylined and replastered. Downstairs, original flagstones floors were uncovered beneath layers of bitumen, now these can once more be enjoyed whilst relaxing in the cosy lounge.
